The purpose of the article is to analyze the indicators and
activities of the implementation of the national project "Labor Productivity" in the Orel region and to present promising proposals aimed at increasing the sustainable development of the region's economy.
The theoretical analysis of Russian and foreign studies of the economic category "labor productivity" made it possible to structure its distinctive features. The research methodology is based on the assessment of basic indicators characterizing the development of the region and the presentation of the results of the implemented activities within the framework of the studied project in the Orel region in the field of labor productivity. Based on the factor analysis of the data, the total economic effect and tax deductions of enterprises that participated in the implementation of the studied project in the region during 2021-2024 are presented. An assessment of the impact of labor productivity on the formation of sustainable development of the Orel region economy is carried out.
The feasibility of allocating state measures to support the development of labor productivity and receiving additional tax deductions to the regional budgets is established. The features and tools of rational regional development of production are structured, which make it possible to increase labor productivity in the region through the introduction of the project-program method. The main advantage of the study is the practical study of the issue of increasing labor productivity in the regional economy. Specific measures are proposed that create the necessary conditions for the effective implementation of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy" from 2025 to 2030 in the Orel Region. It is noted that their implementation will optimize production systems and increase revenues to regional budgets due to the growth of tax deductions. And will reduce the level of labor shortage, harmonizing spatial inequality in the region as well.
