ACADEMIC ADAPTATION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS IN A DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT

The integration of international students into the digital ecosystem of Russian educational institutions is a multidimensional problem that attracts the attention of specialists in various scientific fields. The sociological analysis of existing research in this field allows not only to systematize the accumulated knowledge, but also to identify the prospect of scientific research in the society of augmented modernity.
The purpose of the research is to systematize and analyze the development directions of scientific publications focusing on the phenomenon of academic adaptation, to study the impact of digital technologies on the integration of foreign students into the educational systems of Russian educational institutions.
Methods. Analysis of scientific publications hosted in the scientific electronic library database elibrary.ru for the last five decades. Despite the significant growth of research papers devoted to the issues of general and educational adaptation of international students, it should be noted that research focusing on academic adaptation in the digital space is characterized by fragmentation and insufficient activity.
The results of this study demonstrate that the phenomenon of academic adaptation has undergone significant transformations in the context of international educational cooperation and academic migration. This process is not associated with the name of a specific researcher or a specific document, but is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that began to be actively studied in 1995 and continues to develop in various scientific disciplines. An analysis of the dynamics of publications on the topic of academic adaptation in the digital space indicates an increasing research interest in this phenomenon, which makes it possible to identify its key characteristics and predict the prospects for further study. At the same time, it should be noted that there is a fragmented focus on academic adaptation in the framework of sociological research, where it is considered as a phenomenon caused by the trends in the development of an augmented modern society.
Discussion. Taking into account the scalability and widespread use of academic adaptation technologies in the digital environment, as well as the intensification of scientific developments in this field, we can state the institutionalization of the concept of academic adaptation of international students as an important element of modern sociology of education.
