The article presents the results of the fourth stage of the study within the framework of the topic "Russian citizens' ideas about the future of their country", carried out from 2023 to 2025. The article presents the results of the fourth stage of the study within the framework of the topic "Russian citizens' perceptions of the future of their country", carried out from 2023 to 2025.
Based on a cross-temporal comparison, four key topics are considered: firstly, the influence of the event context on the formation of images of the future of one's country; secondly, scenarios for changes in mass perceptions of the future of one's country; thirdly, scenarios for the development of events that may trigger these changes; and finally, social, demographic, professional, and regional communities that may become the most vulnerable social groups in case of sudden changes.
The subject of the study is the Russian citizens' perceptions about the future of their country. Research method: a group expert interview conducted on the 7th of December in 2024, within the framework of the X Congress of the RAPN "Russia in a Polycentric World Order: Challenges and New Development Paradigms" organized by the Research Committee on Political Psychology of the RAPN.
As a result, the research and surveys conducted in the first three stages since 2023 have recorded a strong demand for the consolidation of society and the acquisition of its unique Russian identity. The expectation of an improvement in the situation in the country is combined with concern about one's own future, which underlines the importance of dialogue between the government and society.
Consequently, the key factor determining the country's future is the ability of the government to solve existing problems, increase citizens' loyalty to political institutions, and build a trusting dialogue with society effectively.
