The mechanism of munici- pality management plays a significant role in the process of development of local ter- ritories. At the same time, modern ap- proaches to assessing the work of LSG bodies do not allow us to draw a conclu- sion about the efficiency of the functioning of the mechanism for managing a munici- pality. Purpose of the article: on the basis of a broad empirical base, to form a model for evaluating the efficiency of the mecha- nism for managing a municipality. Re- search methodology: methods of theoreti- cal knowledge, generalization, concretiza- tion of information, formal legal, compar- ative legal, as well as methods of analysis, comparative evaluation, graphic percep- tion of information, classification, compar- ison. The results of the study are as fol- lows: modern approaches to assessing the mechanism of management of a municipal formation are studied, the author's model for evaluating the efficiency of the mecha- nism of management of a municipal for- mation is formed. In further studies, the authors propose to work out the issue of developing a model program for evaluat- ing the efficiency of the mechanism for managing a municipality. Moreover, in the aspect of modern conditions for the devel- opment of local self-government.
