The new geopolitical reality in the subjective assessments of russian people: a sociological analysis

The purpose of the article is to identify the sentiments of Russians associated with the military operation in Ukraine.
The article presents the results of four stages of a panel study conducted by the Department of Sociology and Information Technology, Central Russian Institute of Management - branch of RANEPA in February-March 2022. It is stressed that it is necessary to actualize the revival of the Russian state ideology based on patriotic education, in-depth study of the history of Russia, mutual assistance, increasing the importance of the institution of the family. The article is concerned with the dynamics of perception of the socio-political situation, the level of trust in the main political institutions and the assessment of their activities, and the significance of the events for the population.
As a result of the research, the authors draw conclusions that in the Russian Federation presidential approval rating is increasing. It is shown that the level of trust in Media is decreasing. The need for high-quality reliable information is revealed. Particular attention is given to the fact that although that extreme anxiety because of the events in Ukraine remains at high level, mainly optimistic social sentiments prevail. The level of patriotism is growing, and the majority of respondents are confident in the need to increase it.
